With a thought of reviving and modernizing Japanese culture and traditional industry, he has worldwide developed his original stage in nearly 10 years.
His extensive projects, from traditional crafts to stage performances incorporated a unique sense of Japan and nature of spirit, are highly evaluated all over the world. In 2006, Omote became the first person in history to succeed an exhibition of art works other than Renaissance at the national museum of Piazza Pitti in Florence, Italia.
As a designer, his works are on sale at The Cover Nippon, Tokyo Midtown, and a jewelry shop in Florence. He makes collaboration works of Japanese traditional craft with each country.
Japan has completed its culture by absorbing various cultures from foreign countries and sublimating into its original culture. However, today, decaying Japanese traditional culture, it is about to lead to the loss of traditional beauty, traditional technique, and nature of sprits.
Japanese culture is a living itself, which has been produced by Japanese climates such as clothing, food, and housing. Flower arrangement and tea ceremony has developed into arts. On the other hand, there is a traditional industry which supports a living in material ways.
After World WarU, however, along with a life style changes, those Japanese culture has rapidly decayed. Even though it is a period of internationalization, Japan should not focus on absorbing world culture.
Proposing our traditional culture to the world once again is a role of Japan in the world. Today, the border between the lifestyle of each country is getting less. Therefore, We establish our identity by incorporating our tradition into modern design and function, conveying it all over the world, and internationally accomplishing cultural contribution.
